********** Payment **********
Payment is expected within 7 days of purchase. We accept the two most common and trusted payment services on the web: Google Checkout & PayPal. You are free to choose either service, at your preference. If you don't have an account with either service, you can use PayPal to pay by any major credit card, even without an account. For customers within the USA, we also accept USPS Postal Money Orders - it MUST be a Postal Money Order, bought from the Post Office. We cannot accept money orders issued by any business other than the US Postal Service. International customers must pay via Google Checkout or PayPal. Orders will be shipped within 2 business days of payment. All items paid by check will be held for 5 working days after receipt of the check for the check to clear. Once cleared then the item will be sent out for delivery.
********** Grading **********
We try to grade conservatively so there will be no surprises when you receive your records – we want you to know exactly what you’re getting, so we describe any issues or imperfections in every item’s listing. Records are primarily graded visually, but we will spot-play any questionable marks on the vinyl to make sure playback is not interrupted. Additionally, every photo we use is of the exact item for sale; we don’t use any stock photos or pictures found on the internet. We are always available to answer additional questions, and are usually able to respond within the same day.
All records will come in a protective clear poly outer sleeve and a solid paper inner sleeve. Custom inner sleeves that have splitting will be replaced to protect the vinyl, but will be included with the item as part of the original package. All 7” records will also have inner sleeves.
We grade similar to the Goldmine record grading standards.
JACKET GRADING SCALE:
Mint (M) Perfect in every way.
STILL SEALED (SS) Even though a record is sealed the jacket may still have wear. This can result in a grade such as (SS VG+) (This means it is sealed but maybe it has some light ring wear from sitting for years or a very small cut in it somewhere.)
Near Mint (NM or M-) A nearly perfect jacket. It should show no obvious signs of wear. The cover should have no creases, folds, seam splits or other noticeable similar defects. Definitely no cut-out holes.
Very Good Plus (VG+) Jacket will have some slight wear, lightly turned up corners, or a slight seam split. Possible a well-repaired seam split that is no longer highly noticeable. The jacket may have slight signs of ring wear, or may be marred by a cut-out hole, indentation or corner indicating it was taken out of print and sold at a discount.
Very Good (VG) The jacket can have any of the defects listed in VG+. It may have a little larger seam splits then the VG+ jacket could have. The jacket may also be marred by writing, or have tape, stickers, or their residue attached. However, it will not have all of these problems at the same time, only two or three of them. It may have larger seam splits that are carefully repaired and nearly un-noticeable.
Good (G), Good Plus (G+) The jacket will have seam splits, especially at the bottom or on the spine. Tape, writing, ring wear or other defects will start to overwhelm the look of jacket.
Poor (P), Fair (F) The jacket can be water damaged, split on all three seams, heavily marred by wear and writing. The LP cover barely keeps the LP inside it. Inner sleeves (if original) are fully seam split, crinkled, and written upon. This could also have heavily repaired seam splits with tape.
VINYL GRADING SCALE:
STILL SEALED (SS)
Mint (M) Perfect in every way. Never been played, possibly even still sealed. We usually won't grade this unless we really mean it.
Near Mint (NM or M-) A nearly perfect record. The record should show no obvious signs of wear.
Very Good Plus (VG+) This will show some signs that it was played and handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. The vinyl surfaces may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't greatly affect one's listening experiences. Very light warps that do not affect the sound or tracking may be present. The label may have some light ring wear or discoloration.
Very Good (VG) Many of the defects found in a VG+ record will be more pronounced for this grade. Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in quiet passages or during a song's intro and fade, they will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as with light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that may affect the sound. The label may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached.
Good (G), Good Plus (G+) Good does not mean Bad! A record in Good or Good Plus condition can be put onto a turntable and should play through without skipping. It will have significant surface noise, scratches and visible groove wear. Labels will have heavy wear.
(If its is a vinyl you have been seeking for years, and the price is right, get it...but look to upgrade down the road)
********** Shipping **********
All records are shipped in a corrugated cardboard box with corrugated cardboard pads. Additionally, all records will come in a protective clear poly outer sleeve and a solid paper inner sleeve. Custom inner sleeves that have splitting will be replaced to protect the vinyl, but are included with the item as part of the original package.
+-+ Domestic Shipping Within The US +-+
Domestic packages will be shipped via USPS Media Mail. Any package with a total value of over $100 will have insurance added. Please contact us before your purchase if you require expedited or premium shipping services.
+-+ International Shipping +-+
We ship worldwide, and package the records securely for safe travel to anywhere. Packages will be sent via USPS First Class International with insurance. Maximum weight for this shipping class is 4 pounds, which is about 5 records. Please be advised that we cannot falsify any customs forms, and you may be subject to VAT, customs duty, or import tax, depending on the laws in your country. Upon request records can be sent via UPS or DHL if you would like tracking information as USPS does not provide tracking.
+-+ Combined Shipping Discounts +-+
Not only do we offer combined shipping, but we encourage it! The bulk of the shipping charge is in the first pound of weight, and the weight of additional records adds only small amounts to the shipping price. Add as many items as you would like to your shopping cart, and complete the checkout procedure - your account will not immediately be charged. Within 1 business day we will send you a revised invoice with the shipping discount applied, and payment will be finalized from this revised invoice.
-Combined Shipping Within The US-
For LP-only or mixed size orders:
-1 or 2 LPs ship for the same Media Mail rate of $3.75
-Add 50 cents for each additional record, up to 6 LPs
-Any LPs you buy over 6 will ship for free
-For add-on 7”s, five 7”s equal the weight of 1 LP
This means that domestic buyers who buy 1 LP can get a second LP or up to five 7”s for no additional shipping charge!
For orders with only 7” records:
-Up to five 7”s ship for the same Media Mail rate of $4
-Add 25 cents for each additional single, up to ten 7”s
-Any 7”s you buy over 10 will ship for free
Important: These rates are based on standard-weight records in standard sleeves; other factors such as heavyweight vinyl, book inserts or deluxe “box-set” packaging may increase your shipping weight slightly. A double album counts as 2 LPs, a triple album counts as 3 LPs and a 10” record is counted as 1 LP.
-Combined Shipping For International Destinations-
Combined shipping for international orders varies by country, so pricing must be determined for each individual order. Feel free to contact us before ordering for a price quote on shipping multiple items, since international postage goes up with every ounce of weight. If you require insurance or expedited shipping, please contact us for a price quote before you place your order, since the high price for these services is often a shock.
********** Returns **********
We are happy to take a return for any item that we've made a mistake about describing; however, we cannot be responsible for damage incurred during shipping. We package very well, with double padding in professional boxes.
Generally speaking, returns will be honored only if the item doesn’t match the listing description. Remember that VG+ does not mean NM, and NM is not New. We grade conservatively with the Goldmine Standard, and may deny a refund based solely on differing grading criteria. Refunds can also be denied if the item is damaged during the return shipment due to insufficient packaging by the buyer.
The returned funds will be issued via the same method that payment was made, and will be done upon receipt of the returned item. Items must be returned in the same condition they were in when they left our shop. Accepted returns will be issued for the full purchase price, plus shipping costs - if the mistake was ours, then we will pay the return shipping as well.
